Guide in Renewal
Understanding soothes the being.
Embodied. Embedded. Enacted. Extended.
"Psychedelic medicines are amplifiers, mirrors, and doorways. They temporarily dissolve the edges of the perceived self and shift states. To enter them without preparation is to walk into wild unknown territory without a compass."
Psychedelic education is the field of knowledge that surrounds safe, intentional, and meaningful engagement with expanded states of consciousness. It encompasses pharmacology, history, harm reduction, ethics, preparation, integration, wisdom teachings and the broader landscape of healing practices these medicines have always belonged to.
Whether you are curious about your own healing journey, a healthcare professional expanding your practice, or an organisation seeking to understand the emerging psychedelic landscape, education is a foundational step.
At Realived, education is woven throughout every offering, every session, every program. It is what makes the difference between a meaningful experience, integrated and embodied in body and mind, and a destabilising one.
You have heard about psychedelic healing and want to understand it before you step into the experience. You want to know what to expect, how to prepare your body and mind, and how to integrate what arises. Education first, ceremony when ready. Transformation that lasts.
You are a therapist, counsellor, nurse, doctor, or social worker navigating the intersection of conventional care and emerging psychedelic-assisted approaches. You want frameworks grounded in evidence and lived experience, ethical grounding, and therapeutic context without the hype.
Your organisation is encountering psychedelics through employee wellbeing, mental health services, or the needs of those in your care. You want informed guidance that is culturally sensitive, regulatory aware, and grounded in lived practice to embed this understanding into how you operate.
Each area of study is drawn from direct facilitation experience, clinical literature, and the living traditions that have held these medicines for centuries.
Understanding what psychedelic medicines actually are: their chemistry, mechanisms of action, duration and intensity, contraindications, and the differences between plant medicines, fungi, and synthesized compounds. Knowledge that is grounded in respect and discernment.
Set, setting, and the conditions that determine whether an experience is therapeutic, healing or destabilising. Physical safety, psychological risk factors, medication interactions, and what to do to stay present and grounded. Holding yourself, and others, through the tender threshold passages.
How to arrive at a ceremony or experience well. Intention setting, dietary and lifestyle considerations, the somatic and emotional preparation that makes space for something deeply personal and intimate to happen. The work that establishes the participant, informs the container, and calls in what is needed.
What happens after is as important as what happens during. Integration is the practice of metabolising insight, embodying change, and grounding the expanded into the everyday. Without it, experiences can be profound yet incomplete. Application is key.
The roots of these medicines in indigenous traditions call for acknowledgement and respect. Exploring and enacting the ethics of accessibility, cultural appropriation, the regulatory landscape, and the responsibilities that come with the work of psychedelic-assisted healing.
A framework for understanding expanded experience that goes beyond neuroscience alone. Somatic awareness, energetic perception, the spiritual dimensions of amplified states, and how to navigate and move through the unknown with stability and trust.
The dimensions of human experience hold both an unexamined expression and an integrated one. This framework maps the movement between them: from disconnection toward conscious, embodied relating.

You are the medicine itself. The psychedelic medicine highlights what was veiling you from sensing, feeling, seeing and knowing what was always already there.
Tessa van de Ven · RealivedEducation at Realived is rooted in facilitation, in study, and in lived experience; in the simple, complex and luminous reality of what actually happens when people enter expanded states. These are the pillars of that approach.
Before any information is offered, we establish why it matters. The history, the cultural origins, the human need that these psychedelic medicines address. Context turns data into meaning. And meaning is what integrates.
The nervous system understands what the mind cannot always articulate. Education at Realived includes somatic awareness, breath, and the body's innate intelligence as a guide for navigating expanded states, integration, and the everyday.
Harm reduction is about creating the conditions in which genuine inquiry and depth becomes possible. Safety is what makes surrender available. Without it, the system stays guarded and the psychedelic medicine cannot be fully received.
The ceremony ends. The journey continues. Integration is the lifelong practice of bringing what was revealed into alignment with how you live, love, work, and relate. Education at Realived closes with this orientation, toward the life that is being returned to and newly inhabited.
